🌈Kara’s pick: Love Makes a Family by Sophie Beer
We love this one because its message is about love, the perfect starting point for introducing diversity to your toddler. Kara loves all the bright images, which has been a genuine favourite for months.
🌈Eliza’s pick: Rainbowsaurus by Steve Antony
The girls love this joyful book of two dads and their noisy family adventure to find the rainbowsaurus. Be prepared to do all the voices with this family favourite!
🌈Peony’s pick: Julian is a Mermaid by Jessica Love
Peony is one for dressing up in sparkles and glitter and probably loves this book because she wishes she had Julian’s outfit! It rightly normalises exploring identity and self-expression, and we love love love the illustrations.
🌈Willow’s pick: Gender Swapped Fairytales by Fransman & Plackett.
I wish this book was just called ‘Fairytales’, but nonetheless it breaks stereotypes, celebrates love, and has utterly gorgeous illustrations. Willow loves the feel of it- it’s definitely a book to hold or have out on the coffee table.
